italy - pisa

We were extremely lucky with our camp site choice in Pisa – only 800m from the leaning tower! Generally Italian cities seem to be quite compact which makes sightseeing pretty easy cause you can explore the city in one day!

First we were complaining about the rain at the lake and then we were finding ourselves burning under the Tuscany sun – of course I managed to get sunburned despite SPF 30. The first day was entirely dedicated to the city itself and it’s sometimes strangely vacant little streets – we discovered that siesta is not only common in Spain – and soaking in all the impressions along the way.

Day two we decided to head to Marina di Pisa – the seaside of Pisa, only 20mins from the city center. It was an incredibly hot day and the sun was blazing merciless, so this time we both managed to get a sunburn – and this time a very painfully one! I accomplished to get it on my ankles and the back of my knees! To a point that walking was very painful and kneeling down a torment! But well worth all the trouble cause it was a beautiful day at the beach with super clean blue water.
