karaoke nights and awesome gifts

Please do excuse the crappy mirror pics but I had to leave the house in 5 mins so there was no way I could have done a proper Outfit shot! :P Also, the dress is not spotted as it looks, that’s the dust on my mirror… lol.

So Saturday was Lena’s birthday party. Everybody met at her place to give her her presents* and have a few pre-party drinks before we were on our way to Holborn. Lena rented a Karaoke room in a place called Sushi Hiroba. It was a bit tight with 8 girls, wine bottles everywhere and loads of sushi in that tiny room… but Karaoke, your friends and Sushi – can it get any better? We even smuggled in some champagne!

Three hours later and with crackling voices due to excessive screaming to Backstreet Boys, Beatles and the Strokes we couldn’t decide which club to go to and ended up in a club in Stockwell called “Swan”. Hands down one of my favourite clubs in London. Great music (live music until 2am), great crowd and a great venue. Definately going there again!

The next day everybody was obviously hangover and tired so we chilled out, had a late breakfast and did nothing. Took me ages to get home because the Cverground was closed - you really don’t want to be stuck in a Bus in London with 30°C outside AND hangover…

So yeah that was my weekend! Hope yours was fun too!

*My presents were simply awesome, I must say. Two things you’ve got to know about Lena:

One. She is the biggest Burburry Fan EVER. She’s got Burberry wallets, boxes, curtains, bedsheets, towels, Flip Flops, bears, suitcases, tennis bats (!) and everything else you can imagine… oh, and bags of course. Loads of them. But no perfume! Aha! So I got her the Burberry Brit fragrance…

 

Second. She is a big photography enthusiast like me (although she is a Nikon fan whereas I prefer Canon and we do have our little arguments about which brand is better… hihi). So I thought something Photography related would be awesome. And while I was surfing the webz I came across this…

A CAMERA LENS MUG!! How awesome is that? Lena opened the box and thought I bought her a real lens at first cause it looks soooooo real! The only thing that gives it away is the weight, cause real lenses are really heavy. I wanted to get Bento supply (stuff for making japanese bento boxes) so I came across the bento&co website where I found those mugs. I can really recommend that website, they ship from Kyoto, Japan, but it didn’t take more than a week to get the stuff. I’ll show you my bento accessories soon, too! ;)

Anyways, so now I had the glorious idea to check if they sell them on ebay too and voilá! They do. Even cheaper! (Simply search for lens mug/cup on ebay). So if you’ve got a photography savvy friend, this might be the perfect gift! A lens mug! I love it…

I love making presents! Especially when they are personal and really relate to that person… Need to start gathering my christmas presents soon…
