a roaring 20ies epicness

2015-01SteffBDAY-3
I mentioned this many times before. I have the most amazing friends. And they make the most amazing parties!!

Especially Sven and Stefanie (>>her blog)! They are the masters of Beijing house parties (partly because of amazing house *cough* *cough*, but especially because of their never ending passion in organizing the best house party YET. After I was not in Beijing at their first themed party (dead celebrities), I vowed I wouldn’t miss any other, they have topped themselves with an incredible Hawaii party that nobody thought could get any better. However, they still managed to up their game and threw this amazing 20ies Gatsby bash! It was also a late birthday party for Stefanie, including champagne pyramid, drop hems and even burlesque dancers from our friend’s group Moonglow Burlesque!

Check out these great pics taken by our talented friend Laurent Hou:

What I loved the most is that all of our friends (we were probably around 50 people in the end) made an effort to dress up! Even the boys – you know guys are usually not too much into dressing up – were bow tie clad and rocking those suspenders! Everyone looked so glamorous and fancy! A truly amazing party. I am dying to see what you come up with next guys! :P

Check Mate

I have developed an obsession with this check print. I don’t know why but I love that it is such a simple print, yet playful and sophisticated at the same time. You won’t have to accessorize much with these pieces as they are already quite bold – I think a clutch bag in a nice popping colour like yellow, orange, blue or red would go so well with it! Especially the two pieces.

I am still on the lookout for white trousers with thin black stripes. If you see one let me know! :)

SALE picks from the high street under £75

Sale picks H&M

With the new year comes the sales! From Designer to High Street – everyone is discounting the last season and tempting us with spring colours and chiffon dresses. Be smart and shop the pieces that were a little out of your price range or just haven’t made it into your closet yet – cause you still have a couple of months to wear it until the weather will let you throw on your chiffon dresses!

Here are my favorites from the high street’s big retailers! Which ones are your favorites? Links below the pictures!

H&M: My H&M picks are all quite classic shapes with a little twist. I love H&M for timeless shapes that you can wear in different seasons and different occasions. The palette is pretty much in soft, simple shades of black, blue, grey and beige.

Topshop Sale

Topshop: Topshop is the place to go for more quirky, on-trend designs and patterns. I picked a wild mix of things that caught my eye; I sometimes find their online offering a bit overwhelming… these are some things that I would like to take home. As Topshop is a little on the pricier side in terms of high street they do have some great bargains during the sale and I especially love their wide choice of whimsy heels that are usually more than 50% off… (check out those burgundy leather booties and the embellished coat, both down to €36 from €120!)

New Look sale

NEW LOOK: New Look has a really impressive sale going on right now, I had a really hard time choosing the items as I loved so many things on the website! They have a great selection of dresses, tops and skirts and I loved the bags and rings I saw. They discounted heavily and since New Look is quite affordable already most of these lovely items are a total bargain! Check out the T-Shirt for less then a tenner and the cute backpack for under £15!

And yes, I want all of it.

graduation

Hello Strangers!
Well I guess I am the stranger here – given that I haven’t posted in aaaages. Well one of the reasons is the above – I am a Graduate! My ceremony was last Monday and with it my University days are over. At least for the moment.
I have been working in Media Buying for the last few months after my last exams (another reason for my absence) and I really enjoy it; I have the most amazing collegues you could wish for and most of them have become very good friends despite the short time that we have known each other. I will be very sad when the day comes that I am leaving for Shanghai but since then I will make the most of each day.
Time has flown in the last couple of weeks. The 9-5 life has its perks (such as more money and not coming home just to sit down and study again) but it also means no days off, less time for friends (and shopping) and no outfit posts. Office dress code is so boring! On top of that I don’t really have a lot of office-appropriate clothes. As a result there is not much to show on how I dress each day – unless you are keen on black trousers and a shirt kind of posts…
I do, however, accumulate quite a lot of pictures from my weekends and I highly intend to post them all. If I just wasn’t so busy after work every day! Hmpf – Adult life is hard! :D
So here is to a new chapter in my life – and hopefully some more blog posts! ;)

Yay Rollerdisco!

I’ve been so busy these past few days! Now that I have finished my studies the serious side of life has begun! Read: Going to Job Interviews! But I am really excited and I can’t wait to see what future has in store for me!

These pictures are actually from a while back but I thought it’s never too late to post them! It was one of the last weekend for Thea (if you are reading this hun – London misses you!!!) so we decided to have some fun at the Roller Disco. And of course when it comes to anything  like that I had to ask my 90ies child Kerstin to come along! We had a good night, making our rounds on the dancefloor, dancing to Madonna and MC Hammer! If you are in London and want to do something different, check out the Rollerdisco’s website HERE!

P.s.: Thanks to everyone who joined us for the Blog TV session! That was good fun and shall be repeated soon! ;)

Hey Guys!
I know its been a little quiet around here lately but in the last couple of days I just couldn’t find the time to blog. These pictures are still from my easter holidays, anyone can guess where?!

As you know it was my birthday last week and my besty Michelle came over to visit me (who’s birthday it is today – happy birthday my honey!!!). Unfortunately I got sick the day before and had to hand in an important report the day before which meant that I basically didn’t have much time for her the whole day. We did have a lovely night at Bavarian Beerhouse though, although the decoration was a bit lame… but the waitress made up for it – everybody is so sweet there, if you ever have some time and don’t know where to go, go to BB in Old Street!

Anyways, the whole weekend was rainy so we kinda stayed in most of the time which was still nice; nothing better than watching movies with your best friend when you’re ill and its raining outside! Michelle left on Tuesday morning and since then I have spend pretty much every minute at Uni, working on reports and presentations. Really stressfull right now but then again, these are the last 4 weeks! Eeeep! Can’t believe I will be done on the 29th of May!

But yeah, until then there is loads more to do, so don’t expect too much from me, Uni is priority at the moment! I do think about going somewhere after my exams, was thinking of Marocco maybe, any suggestions?

lego is back!

No, not the game! Lego is the friend of Kerstin whom I met back in October for the first time when he was only visiting the british capital for a couple of days. Now he is back in the city for 3 month – everybody falls in love with this city and moves here eventually!

Of course there is no better way to spend your first sunday in London than strolling around Shoreditch – and stuffing ones face with the delicacies on offer. I decided to finally try Okonomyaki for the first time; a japanese cabbage-based savory pancake. It tastes… interesting. Not bad at all but really unfamiliar, especially the texture. Would definately recommend it though! While I was running around the food stands trying to figure out what to get I was approached by a reader! Hello Thea if you are reading this! Was so nice to meet you!

As the tradition demands, we had to take a stereotypical photobooth pic at Rough Trade again; note my super scary look in the third pic! :D

How was your weekend?

xxx

Würde es jedoch bedenkenlos jedem empfehlen der mal was neues ausprobieren will.

Wie war euer Wochenende?
