grey is the new black

 page
No, I am not talking about 50 Shades of Grey. It’s all about grey hair!

I am obsessed with beautiful women and grey hair. Especially in combination with tanned skin and icy blue eyes (which, admittedly are mostly contacts)… I have been eying with grey hair for a while now, there are only three things that have stopped me so from going grey immediately.

First of all the job, I work in a creative industry so I might be able to get away with it but not sure what the clients would say… or my boss! :/

Secondly grey hair is 1) extremely difficult to achieve (Bleach.Bleach.Bleach) and 2) extremely difficult to maintain. It washes out easily and fades quickly and can easily become green if you use the wrong product. Given that I work out every day and have to wash my hair daily that seems kind of difficult.

Thirdly I have finally gotten back to my beloved long hair, the last ombre dye is fading out at the bottom and my hair is finally long, healthy and natural again. Sigh.

Pictures are from Pinterest but check out the lovely Samantha (pic 3 & 5) on Instagram and Youtube!

What do you think? Do or don’t? Are you pro or contra grey hair?

a roaring 20ies epicness

2015-01SteffBDAY-3
I mentioned this many times before. I have the most amazing friends. And they make the most amazing parties!!

Especially Sven and Stefanie (>>her blog)! They are the masters of Beijing house parties (partly because of amazing house *cough* *cough*, but especially because of their never ending passion in organizing the best house party YET. After I was not in Beijing at their first themed party (dead celebrities), I vowed I wouldn’t miss any other, they have topped themselves with an incredible Hawaii party that nobody thought could get any better. However, they still managed to up their game and threw this amazing 20ies Gatsby bash! It was also a late birthday party for Stefanie, including champagne pyramid, drop hems and even burlesque dancers from our friend’s group Moonglow Burlesque!

Check out these great pics taken by our talented friend Laurent Hou:

What I loved the most is that all of our friends (we were probably around 50 people in the end) made an effort to dress up! Even the boys – you know guys are usually not too much into dressing up – were bow tie clad and rocking those suspenders! Everyone looked so glamorous and fancy! A truly amazing party. I am dying to see what you come up with next guys! :P

Almost forgotten…

101
Just found these pictures on my external hard drive! They were taken around the same time last year with my lovelies Kerstin from Mademoiselleroy and Van Ahn from Chopstick panorama when we went to a market in London… kinda can’t remember which one it was… was it Borough Market?
Anyways. It made me miss London a bit and especially all my friends who I left behind when I moved to China. I found many great new friends in Beijing too but it’s sad that you can’t have them all around you at all times.
In this regard a big hug to my friends in London – I miss you! <3

día de los muertos

IMG_7475IMG_7462IMG_7452IMG_7443 Boo!
On Friday was “Día de los Muertos”, the Day of the Dead.
It is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. People built little altars to commemorate the dead, decorated with flowers and “calaveras de azúcar” ("sugar skulls"). So I dressed up as one!
Unfortunately I was in a rush to get to the party so I couldn’t take proper good pics but you get the idea!!
This was my inspiration:

50ies look

321316327341328   343

My sister did this cool 50ies do for me when I was at her place. She is really into the whole era and always looks so amazing when she dolls up! I need to learn how to do this myself although my hair length is not ideal for these kind of hairstyles.

What do you think?

katch pr press day

035037027006-tile012009-horz021cd049cjgd077

Last thursday I was invited to the Katch PR Press day where they were showcasting a couple of brands’ A/W collections. It took place in Cirque du Soir, which is usually an infamous nightclub near Carnaby Street that takes partying to a whole new level. One of my friends who I worked with during my time as a barmaid in Big Red works the stage spitting fire now and it’s definately worth seeing if you get a chance! We were greeted by Lottie, the cute rockabilly girl with the perfect vintage style and those cute cherry hairpins. I found out that she has a blog too and it’s all about a girls best assets – boobs! :D Check it out here!

I liked a lot of the clothes and accessories but not everything was particularly my cup of tea so I will keep the focus on the three brands that caught my attention the most. First off, Cleo B caught my attention because of their quirky designs, I loved the cassette design flats and bags, very unique! The second brand that stood out of the crowd was Delada. Their collection was quite dark and edgy which is something that always gets me and I particularly liked the cuts and materials they used.

My absolute favourite has got to be the A/W Collection of Zeynep Tosun, I absolutely loved the whole range. The collection is inspired by elephants, hence the marble like print that resembles an elephant’s skin and obviously the beautiful silver tusks! Tonsun debuted with this collection on London Fashion Week a couple of weeks ago, definately a designer to watch! The runway pic is borrowed from Alan from Stylogasm – who I happened to run into on Sunday with Van Ahn!

We also got our hair done by lovely Lois from Portobello Studio, she is so lovely, will definately get my next haircut there. They were also doing mini manicures, eyelash extensions and fake tans!

Thanks again Katch PR for a lovely day!

the birds are singing now

Hiya!
So there you go; my new haircut! Ok, not that much of a change but I did get it shortened quite a bit. I’ve got some layers now as well; the straight cut is just so boring. Whatcha think? I am actually quite pleased with how it looks, especially with the blond / ombre leftovers at the bottom.

The shirt and the varsity jacket are from the mens section at Primark again. The denim shirt has brown corduroy patches on the elbows and was only ten quid - me gusta! Oh and I just love this jacket, it is super comfy. Went to Uni like this today and was actually too hot, spring is on! The birds outside my house have been going crazy for a couple of weeks already…

So yeah, tell me what you think?

286 Thumbs up for my scissors desing! :D

Heya!
Tadaa! Was meint ihr?

Also, wie findet ihrs?
