2014 in (travel) Numbers

I love infographics. Although I never really figured out how to make them! After a quick google search I found that you don't need years of photoshop experience to make them! I tried a couple of different free programs but I have to say Piktochart is my favourite! Had a bit of fun playing around with it and made this little travel statistic of 2014! If you go and write it down you realize you did more than you thought! Time flies!

a day at the sea

Hello from Ostfriesland! I am spending a few days at my grandparent’s place again. 

Yesterday my dad and me decided to go for a short trip, so we flew to Juist, one of the german islands. I really like the islands, life is slow and steady here – there are no cars, no skyscrapers, no stress. Juist has got miles and miles of sandy beaches and the only way to travel around is by horse or bike – or foot. We took the carriage into town, enjoyed traditional fish and blueberry shakes and wandered around at the sea.

Hallo aus Ostfriesland! Bin mal wieder für ein paar Tage bei meinen Großeltern zu Besuch.

Gestern haben mein Vater und ich beschlossen einen Kurztrip ans Meer zu machen, also sind wir nach Juist geflogen. Ich mag die Ostfriesischen Inseln sehr, das Leben ist si schön langsam und stetig – keine Autos, keine Wolkenkratzer, kein Stress. Juist hat meilenweiten Sandstrand zu bieten und die einzigen Fortbewegungsmittel sind Pferd und Fahrrad – oder eben zu Fuß. Wir sind mit einer herrlichen Kutsche in den Ort gefahren und haben uns Matjes und Blaubeer-Shakes schmecken lassen. Danach ging es zum Strand und immer entlang der Dünen.

good to go

Taking a break from studies… got my first exam on Monday. All I can think of is holidays! Funny since strictly speaking I just got back from the last. Can’t wait to go snowboarding in February and most of all: flying to see my best friend in San Francisco in April – 15 days! Yeahaw! Plus, we are going to Las Vegas for one weekend, how cool is that?

That’s that for my holiday dreaming, gotta get back to studies now, hope you had a more exiting weekend!

Ich mach grad studier Pause… am Montag ist mein erstes Exam. Allerdings kann ich nur noch an Ferien denken. Eigentlich verrückt, wo ich die letzten Ferien doch gerade erst hinter mir habe. Ich kann’s einfach kaum erwarten im Februar Snowboarden zu gehen und vor allen Dingen kann ich’s gar nicht abwarten im April endlich zu meiner Besten nach San Francisco zu fliegen – für 15 Tage! Juhuu! Noch dazu fliegen wir dann für ein Wochenende nach Las Vegas, wie gut ist das denn bitte?

So, genug geträumt, ich muss jetzt weiterlernen, hoffe ihr hattet ein schöneres Wochenende!

rock am ring

Flew over Rock am Ring festival yesterday, two of my friends were there but still recovering from saturday. Muse was playing!!! Aaarrrgh I would have loved to see them, I know every song by heart. This RaR must have been epic… so many awesome bands, especially since it was the 25 years aniversary. Forget all that pop bla bla, bring on some rock!!! Rammstein, Rage against the Machine, Kiss, H-Blockx, Gossip, Motörhead, HIM, Pendulum, Lamb of God, Wolfmother… I gotta stop or I’ll cry! All my favourite bands…

As you can see it wasn’t very busy (it was 1pm so most of the people were probably still sleeping :D ). At the top acts the whole place is covered with people.

Do you see all those camps? Some of the guys at the far ends have to walk quite a while to get to the stages! The area is massiv; it looks like villages but its actually all camps...
