karaoke nights and awesome gifts

IMG_9024IMG_9020IMG_9009IMG_9007IMG_9010IMG_9027     (Dress, Heels – Primark / Bag – Vintage / Necklace – Camden / Watch – Claires / Ring – YSL)

Please do excuse the crappy mirror pics but I had to leave the house in 5 mins so there was no way I could have done a proper Outfit shot! :P Also, the dress is not spotted as it looks, that’s the dust on my mirror… lol.

So Saturday was Lena’s birthday party. Everybody met at her place to give her her presents* and have a few pre-party drinks before we were on our way to Holborn. Lena rented a Karaoke room in a place called Sushi Hiroba. It was a bit tight with 8 girls, wine bottles everywhere and loads of sushi in that tiny room… but Karaoke, your friends and Sushi – can it get any better? We even smuggled in some champagne!

Three hours later and with crackling voices due to excessive screaming to Backstreet Boys, Beatles and the Strokes we couldn’t decide which club to go to and ended up in a club in Stockwell called “Swan”. Hands down one of my favourite clubs in London. Great music (live music until 2am), great crowd and a great venue. Definately going there again!

The next day everybody was obviously hangover and tired so we chilled out, had a late breakfast and did nothing. Took me ages to get home because the Cverground was closed - you really don’t want to be stuck in a Bus in London with 30°C outside AND hangover…

So yeah that was my weekend! Hope yours was fun too!

*My presents were simply awesome, I must say. Two things you’ve got to know about Lena:

One. She is the biggest Burburry Fan EVER. She’s got Burberry wallets, boxes, curtains, bedsheets, towels, Flip Flops, bears, suitcases, tennis bats (!) and everything else you can imagine… oh, and bags of course. Loads of them. But no perfume! Aha! So I got her the Burberry Brit fragrance…

Second. She is a big photography enthusiast like me (although she is a Nikon fan whereas I prefer Canon and we do have our little arguments about which brand is better… hihi). So I thought something Photography related would be awesome. And while I was surfing the webz I came across this…

nikon lens mug (Unfortunately I didn’t take a pic myself, this is from here. You can even ZOOM (extend the mug)!!! :D )

A CAMERA LENS MUG!! How awesome is that? Lena opened the box and thought I bought her a real lens at first cause it looks soooooo real! The only thing that gives it away is the weight, cause real lenses are really heavy. I wanted to get Bento supply (stuff for making japanese bento boxes) so I came across the bento&co website where I found those mugs. I can really recommend that website, they ship from Kyoto, Japan, but it didn’t take more than a week to get the stuff. I’ll show you my bento accessories soon, too! ;)

Anyways, so now I had the glorious idea to check if they sell them on ebay too and voilá! They do. Even cheaper! (Simply search for lens mug/cup on ebay). So if you’ve got a photography savvy friend, this might be the perfect gift! A lens mug! I love it…

Photojojo Canon Lens Cup (This is the Canon Lens that I am going to get for myself… ^^ source here)

I love making presents! Especially when they are personal and really relate to that person… Need to start gathering my christmas presents soon…

yesterday

IMG_7531 IMG_7470IMG_7529 IMG_7482 IMG_7491 IMG_7503 IMG_7514 IMG_7515 IMG_7519IMG_7538IMG_7534IMG_7544 IMG_7547 IMG_7556IMG_7573   All shots taken with a Canon EOS 500D and a 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Yesterday Lena and me met up to go to the Natural History Museum. I can honestly say that I have been in almost every museum in London but this one is still one of my favourites. The exhibitions are always interesting and informatory but what I love most is the architecture of the building. I am a little architechture lover (maybe one of the reasons why I love city sightseeing more than hanging out on the beach) and the Natural History Museum is just plain beautiful. If you are in London and it’s raining, go and check out a museum. Btw, they are free. If you are a Londoner and you haven’t seen it: Shame on you.

So after a couple of hours at the museum we got a bit hungry and decided to go to Picadilly Circus to check out a Japanese Store we heard about. It’s called Japan Town and they’ve got some really nice freshly made Sushi for less (considering you are in Central) but the rest (think kitchen ware, books, food) was unfortunately a bit pricey… I am looking for Bento accessories, you know. Anyways. So we had our food and went to see Nicky, our friend with the twins.

Gosh they have grown so much! Well, they are still super tiny, just the size of a newborn, but considering that they were just 1,5kg when they were born… I love them already to bits! Aimee stayed on my lap the whole evening and didn’t even cry once. *Proud* Love those cute little fingers. Awwww! :)

What you’ve been up to?

p.s: These pictures were taken with my new 50mm lens, highly recommended!

Awww! :)

Was habt ihr so gemacht?

alexandra palace

IMG_6691IMG_6682IMG_6680IMG_6697IMG_6703

On Monday my bf and me went to Alexandra Palace for a little picknic and to watch the sunset. You can see almost the whole city from up there, even the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf. Unfortunately the sunny day turned really cloudy towards the evening and we decided to go somewhere warmer. What’s better than spending the rest of the day in your favourite Japanese Restaurant? Right, not much! Not so much sushi but a delicious salmon tartar and a sashimi and tempura bento box. A well spent day.

born and raised in a summer’s haze

IMG_5872IMG_5845IMG_5876   (Jeans, Jacket, Bag – H&M / Shirt, Flats – Primark / Necklace – Forever 21 / Ring, Watch – Asos)

Hey Everyone.

Just a  quick outfit post from last week. I wasn’t very creative lately, please bear with me. I am really busy running errands and meeting friends now that I am back in my hometown. I only got a couple of days here because I am flying back to London on Thursday and there is so much to do until then. It’s a national holiday atm here in Germany so yesterday my dad and me got our bikes out and cycled a tour of 60km. We chose a route that used to be a railway but was transformed into a cycling way that leads through a beautiful scenery. I am a bit shattered today but it was good.

Btw, I really didn’t like my hair up since I died it (yes, it’s dead at the bottom) but I really like it braided now because it gives this nice colour shift effect.

We are leaving for a bit of flying before we’ll have some nice sushi in the evening. Enjoy your week!

off to bremen.

IMG_5593IMG_5584IMG_5589 IMG_5586IMG_5590IMG_5591 (Hat, Cardigan – New Look / Shirt, Shorts, Boots – Vintage / Bag – Next / Locket – Topshop / Rings – Asos)

Hello everybody!! ^^

I am enjoying my time of although it has been busier than expected… instead of sleeping and chilling I’ve been running around all the time and tomorrow morning(6.40 am –.-‘ ) is my flight to Bremen where I will be visiting my grandparents before I head back home in a few days. Saturday was a lot of fun so sunday morning I felt a bit hangover (not used to it anymore after all this studying! :D ) but I still gathered the pieces of my shattered body to meet some friends down in Canada Water to have Sushi. You know, you can never have enough Sushi! ;)

Yesterday started off with an early start in a friend’s warehouse were I picked up a couple of samples of his Make Up Brand to do a product shoot. From there we went to Westfield (OMG; it’s huge!) to get some baby stuff for a friend of mine who is due in a couple of weeks. We probably should have considered that it was bank holiday because it was so annoyingly crowded, I didn’t stand more than 10 min in any of the high street shops. I wish I could show you some pics of the boys in the toyshop, it was so hilarious – grown men getting all exited over toys! Anyways, we grabed what we liked and left the shopping center as soon as possible and went to see the bespoke friend.

After running one million errands today I am finally home and ready to start packing (no, I haven’t started yet) before I have to leave around 4 in the morning to the airport. Phew. Probably no sleep for me then…

sushi galore

I don't know how some people can not love Sushi... seriously I could die for this. Well, not literally. =)

Had a wonderful evening two days ago amongst my best friends in our favourite Sushi bar and am enjoying those last days at home. I am flying back to London on monday; with mixed feelings. On the one hand I don't really want to leave home and my family... and on top all those upcoming exams in January. On the other hand I really miss my boyfriend (and I hope our flat is still in one piece haha). But I will be back in February to go on skiing holiday with my family in Austria, so it won't be long. Snowboarding again, at last! <3

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Translation:

Endlich wieder Snowboarden! <3

Habt ein schönes Wochenende, meine Lieben!
